Fill enough squares on the board with your dice to dominate it. First to occupy 16 of the 36 squares wins.
Play happens on a 6x6 area of 36 squares, each starting with a white die rolled to a random face. You sit at the row closest to you (your edge); your opponent holds the opposite edge.
Roll two dice. If a die on your edge shows the same number as either of your rolled dice, you may claim it — replacing it with one of your own dice showing that number. If both your rolled dice match different squares on your edge, you can claim both.
Roll doubles and you get to roll again — and on that bonus roll (and any further doubles), you can also claim matches on squares next to dice you already own, not just your edge. Doubles can chain as long as they keep coming up.
You never have to claim a match you're offered.
Instead of claiming a new square, you can reinforce a square you already hold by stacking a second die on it — but only onto a square that already shows the same number as the die you're placing. A stacked square takes two wins to lose in Battle instead of one — the attacker must defeat the top die before they can even reach the one underneath.
If one of your squares is next to an opponent's square, you may attack it once per turn. Both sides roll a die — higher number wins and captures the loser's top die, except a 1 beats a 6. If the losing square is left empty, a fresh white die is rolled there automatically.
You each have 28 dice. Every square you claim or stack uses one from your reserve; a captured die returns to its owner's reserve to be used again.
